PHNS has created a proprietary web-based application suite called Patient Care Solutions ("PCS") which consolidates both clinical and financial information from disparate existing legacy systems through a single, easy-to-use, information access tool. Patient Care Solutions consists of a clinical application called Patient Information Exchange (PIE) and a financial application called Financial Information Exchange (FIE).

PIE electronically links together information from existing legacy systems at a hospital or a hospital system. Physicians can access the hospital’s existing electronic medical record, their census, transcribed reports, patient demographics, laboratory results, encounter history and all orders.

FIE consolidates critical financial information into an easy-to-use access application. Hospital CFOs, controllers and designated employees can drill down to view specific departmental data, system profitability summaries, financial division income statements, company detailed income statements, company variance summaries, account balance details and general ledger AP distribution.

Patient Information Exchange

PHNS’ proprietary, web-based PIE has the capability to centralize and standardize your existing clinical systems and accumulate all your hospital’s patient information while saving you millions of dollars per year. PIE consolidates your hospital’s existing disparate legacy systems, such as laboratory, radiology and medical records and transcription thus creating a single point, easy-to-use access tool to all relevant patient data captured from multiple facilities, visits, systems and platforms. PIE easily interfaces with a hospital’s existing Electronic Health Record system and allows physicians to review and complete chart signature requirements from remote locations.

PIE gives physicians and caregivers a web-based system that uses a standard, easy web-browser to share clinical results, census information, transcribed reports/results, demographics, laboratory results, encounter history, orders and physician information demographics. Furthermore, PIE allows physicians to share information “across the continuum of patient care” to the benefit of patients and providers.

Authorized physicians can share clinical results, significantly reducing the need for duplicate testing by different physicians and specialists, aiding in the reduction of overall healthcare costs. Through PIE’s extensive security facilities, the ability is provided to define relationships among physicians in practices affording them the ability to share patient data. Physicians have the ability to customize their own census based on their needs.

Financial Information Exchange

Access all your hospital’s existing financial information through a web-enabled, secure information system. PHNS’ FIE provides hospitals with an enterprise wide intranet/Internet access point to company financial information. This critical information is obtained from the hospital’s existing legacy systems such as general ledger, accounts payable, time and attendance and the employee badge system. Data access is tightly secured through multiple data security and data encryption. Security is maintained through multiple systems-based security features, user ID-based security and standard SSL data encryption.
