Introduction to Compliance Services

PHNS has developed a comprehensive, integrated Regulatory Compliance Program that is available to our clients. This program is based on the Office of Inspector General's (“OIG”) “Compliance Programs for Hospitals, the updated Federal Sentencing Guidelines (November 2004) and the “OIG Supplemental Compliance Program Guidelines for Hospitals” (January 2005) to ensure that healthcare organizations fulfill these commitments while operating in a complex and highly regulated environment. PHNS’ Corporate Compliance Program enables each employee to effectively articulate and demonstrate a commitment to ethical and legal conduct, and understand how to address the compliance issues that present themselves on a daily basis. These compliance issues include, among others:

  • Maintaining confidentiality
  • Recognizing possible conflicts of interest
  • Correctly using and caring for property, equipment, technology and information
  • Maintaining the integrity and quality of job performance
  • Providing high quality services
  • Retaining medical and other records for appropriate timeframes
  • Coding accurately to reflect the services provided
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
