Providence Hospital, a 247-bed hospital located in beautiful downtown Columbia, South Carolina, has selected PHNS to provide an onsite audit of the inpatient coding division of its Health Information Management (HIM) department. PHNS will provide Providence Hospital with a thorough review of inpatient medical records to ensure accuracy in documentation and applied coding, and also will provide any necessary recommendations and education to the coding staff. - Abington Memorial Hospital Selects PHNS for Onsite Coding Compliance Audit
As part of its endeavor to maintain excellence as a healthcare provider, Abington Memorial Hospital has selected PHNS to provide an onsite audit of the inpatient and outpatient coding division of its Health Information Management (HIM) department. - Karmanos Cancer Center Enters Medical Records Relationship with PHNS
PHNS announced that it has entered into an agreement to provide all medical records management services to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Hospital d/b/a Karmanos Cancer Center, Detroit, Michigan. Karmanos Cancer Center is Michigan’s first and only hospital exclusively focused on caring for cancer patients. It recently became an independent entity by acquiring the cancer hospital operations of The Detroit Medical Center, where PHNS has been providing medical records management services since 2002.

- LSU’s Bogalusa Medical Center Expands Medical Records Relationship with PHNS
PHNS announced that it has expanded its medical records services relationship with Louisiana State University’s Bogalusa Medical Center to include conversion of paper medical records into an electronic based system. PHNS currently provides management, storage and retrieval services for Bogalusa’s medical records through PHNS’ New Orleans-based Hunter Medical Systems.

- Ballinger Memorial Hospital Signs Coding Agreement with PHNS
Ballinger Memorial Hospital, Ballinger, Texas, has signed a medical record coding service agreement with PHNS to improve Ballinger’s coding, information flow and revenue cycle. Initially Ballinger will send emergency department medical records to PHNS for coding, after which it plans to send outpatient and inpatient records to PHNS for coding. PHNS also will provide Ballinger’s physicians with clinic coding, DRG reviews, auditing and APC reviews.

- Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Obtains Interim HIM Director from PHNS
Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Santa Rosa, California, has retained PHNS to provide an Interim HIM Director to manage Santa Rosa’s medical records, transcription, coding and release of information operations. PHNS will provide these interim services while Santa Rosa searches for a permanent HIM Director.
In addition to interim health information management services, PHNS provides full medical records management, transcription, coding, medical records storage, release of information and related services to hospitals and other healthcare providers.
