PHNS Implements New Accelerated Claims Resolution Services with ISoftStone (Chinese Version)

PHNS Inc. announced its new "24/7 Claims Acceleration" services for U.S. hospitals using a team of Chinese business analysts trained by PHNS and China-based IT and business process outsourcing provider ISoftStone.  The Chinese business analysts are located in iSoftStone's Global Delivery Center in Tianjin, China.  All of this new team have bachelor's or master'-equivalent degrees, and have completed months of specialized PHNS' hospital claims resolution training, facilitated by specialists from both PHNS and iSoftStone. Providence Health & Services-California Engages PHNS' Revenue Cycle Services

PHNS announced that Providence Health & Services-California (Providence) has selected PHNS to provide primary early placement outsourced revenue cycle services.  Providence is a not-for-profit health system that has 5 hospitals in California and an additional 22 hospitals in Alaska, Washington, Montana and Oregon.

PHNS to Provide ICD-10 Readiness Assessment for NorthBay Healthcare

PHNS Inc announced that it has been engaged by NorthBay Healthcare (NorthBay), Fairfield, California, to begin the process of assessing its readiness for its migration from ICD-9 to ICD-10.  PHNS was awarded this Phase 1 of a multi-phase project for NorthBay.  PHNS' ICD-10 review will include a technology readiness assessment of all of NorthBay's technology vendors, including the level of risk associated with each system or vendor and a gap analysis describing tasks and dependencies to move NorthBay from the current ICD-19 state (and associated X12 4010 transaction sets) to ICD-10

Patient-Focused Electronic Health Record Technology Gains Support and Voices in Congress

Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D, RI) and Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D, TX) have taken the lead in urging their fellow members of Congress and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources (HHS) to require patient quality improvements as a prerequisite to obtaining federal electronic health record (EHR) stimulus funds.

PHNS to Provide ARRA Stimulus Assistance to NorthBay Healthcare

PHNS Inc. announced that it has been engaged by NorthBay Healthcare (NorthBay), Fairfield, California, to assess its readiness to obtain federal electronic health record stimulus funds.  The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) provides approximately $34 billion of federal funds for improved electronic health records and connectivity to improve patient care and quality.

Graduation for PHNS' New Class of Coders

PHNS announced the graduation of its first class of medical coders that were selected from partnering colleges in the Chicago area.  PHNS developed its innovative Coder Development Program for outpatient hospital coding in order to develop a source of new well-trained medical coders that can bridge the knowledge gap between student graduates and entry level coders.

PHNS’ Kneipper Urges Congress to Use ARRA Funds to Create 21st Century EHRs that Focus on Improving Patient Care

On Friday, June 26, 2009, Rick Kneipper, PHNS' Chief Administrative Officer and Co-Founder, participated in a Congressional Health Care Caucus panel presentation that urged members of Congress to ensure that the federal stimulus monies for healthcare IT be used to improve patient care and quality.
